With nearly 40 years behind the chair, Kim’s passion for hairdressing is rooted in equal parts craftsmanship, education and a genuine love of making people feel good.

 

A precision cutter and colorist at heart, Kim founded Sesso Bella Salon more than 25 years ago with a desire to create something beyond a traditional salon—a place where clients felt cared for, stylists could grow, and great hairdressing was built on great education.

 

Education would eventually transform Kim’s own career. In 2004, she was one of six Americans invited to Italy for Davines’ first international Train the Trainer program. The experience began a relationship with Davines that would take her around the world and ultimately place her at the forefront of the company’s North American education.

 

Kim became a member of Davines North America’s first national education team and later served as Lead National Master Trainer. In that role, she developed educational programs, trained and certified other Davines educators, and collaborated with the international team in Italy on education that reached well beyond North America. Her work took her throughout North America and abroad, both teaching and continually learning from some of the industry’s best.

 

But perhaps the most meaningful part of that experience was what Kim brought home.

 

She used the same education and principles she taught nationally to develop Sesso Bella’s own young stylists—many hired directly out of beauty school. Several went on to become Davines educators themselves. That commitment to mentorship, technical excellence and continued learning became an important part of Sesso Bella’s culture and helped shape the salon it is today.

 

Although Kim has stepped away from national education, she certainly hasn’t stepped away from learning. Nearly four decades into her career, she remains behind the chair, still refining her craft, still growing and still excited by what comes next.

 

At the heart of everything Kim creates is a simple idea: make people’s lives a little better. Whether that means helping someone feel beautiful, encouraging a young stylist, creating a welcoming environment or finding a new way to make Sesso Bella better, she believes the spaces we create can genuinely improve people’s everyday lives.

 

And when she does slow down, one of her favorite places to be is in the kitchen baking with her grandson, Sebby.
